Yes its a viable solution, because it already was solving inceldom, the "patriarchal" norms of the past pretty much enforced monogamy indirectly because it prevented women from being able to work and own property, so every man was "dating up" from a woman's standpoint, so all men as a collective had a decent chance
Problem is there is no way to roll back the clock, the economy only works now because such a large population is taxable, and the elites would never let it go back even if they could restructure society to make it work like before
