I don't know, dude. They're always so high pitched for no reason.
I know they drop the Rs at the end of words and that flourish can make words sound a little.. off. But even still that doesn't quite explain it. Because Boston and New York accents do the same thing except often they sound even more masculine than the standard American accent AND they don't speak pitch their voice up artificially.
