perfectly fine, to me it's just uninteresting smudge of blue and brown, and the accents are fucked up

Yes, it has some nice movement. That being said there’s a little too much grey and blue so it could be a bit difficult to decern what is going on because some of it blends together. I would have changed up the colors a bit to have more contrast between the sky/water and the foreground monster and hunter.

You're overanalyzing it. The image is striking and it's very easy to tell what's going on unless your vision is poor.
