it's still legal but obviously not something common Nowdays, it was relatively common in my region decades ago.

Now that you mention it I think I do remember hearing about having distant family that did that but I've never met them.

I know for sure about a cousin who is a product of a cousin marriage but knowing that my entire bloodline has always lived in this place (that once was the poorest region of the country) I wouldn't be surprised if a considerable part of them have had cousin grandparents or something like that.
