Do you guys have a console that you just love with all your heart because it has sentimental value to you?

For me It's the 3DS and the Playstation 2 because I grew up with those consoles and played them a lot as a kid and it really made my childhood so much better. Truly special consoles to me and I shed a tear of nostalgia while playing them nowadays. They were there to comfort me and offer me a whole new world when no one else did. When life was a piece of shit to me, I lie happy knowing that I would at least get to play my favorite games when I came back home. That's assuming my parents didn't take them away (they were assholes sometimes). What console is like this for you? What games did you play on it? I'd love to know.

I still have my NES clone which plays original NES games and my Playstation 1, the big one.

I love both a lot but I have yet to find some time to play them again.

I also used to have a Playstation Portable and have unfortunately sold it to prove to my useless parents that I am growing up.

I will eventually get me a used PSP in good condition and play some Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition again.

It almost felt like a PS2 on the go but the games weren't too big.

I've also owned a Nintendo Gamecube but only briefly.

Never missed it.

Fr PSP is basically a portable PS2 I mean even the graphics are similiar. It's surprising how much power a handheld console of that generation had. Gamecube was also a really good and frankly underrated console. I mean it had a bunch of PS2 and Xbox games available for it and it had solid exclusives. Frankly great console tbh.

It's gotta be the Xbox 360. I also had a PS2 but I was too young at the time to truly appreciate it + my mum took away all of the violent games that came with it so all that I had to play was Sonic and PES lmao.

Xbox 360 was a banger, by far the best and most successful Xbox console. I currently have an Xbox Series X|S and it's a good console but I don't really see much point in owning an Xbox when the Playstation can do the same and sometimes even better. Xbox 360 had lots of solid exclusives and even the Xbox One. As for the PS2 and your mom not allowing you to play M-rated games, It sucks when the games you have are M-rated and your parents don't let you play them, and if you paid for them with your own money it's arguably not fair or cool to do that. My parents were a little strict in a way. They let me play games like Injustice and maybe some Borderlands 2 but no Resident Evil, GTA, or Fallout. I missed out but honestly I'm happy I got to play a lot of different games. I also used to Play PS3 and Wii U back in the day I forgot to mention, but they weren't mine so. Wii U was a good console though, didn't deserve to fail like it did but it could've definitely had more games and exclusives (Sorry for the text wall btw).

I love my wii, i grew up with it and i still play it today

For me it’s the SNES which I grew up with and got on its launch or shortly thereafter.

Mine even has a special red Nintendo sticker on the back placed there by the company which is somewhat rare as I believe most of the ones you’ll find in the wild are grey.

Basically they feature a Nintendo repair line phone number and a picture of Mario holding a wrench I believe.

Anyway the special games of my youth on it were Super Mario World (arguably its best overall game) and the Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past which was and still is one of the greatest Zelda games ever back when the series was like a religious experience to me more than just a game, long before the hack no talent Eiji Aounuma came along and ruined it.

Next would be the N64 but I don’t really like the look of the console itself or the controllers but it is special to me because it has my favorite all time game Zelda Ocarina of Time on it.

Other great games are Conker’s Bad Fur Day, F-Zero X and of course WWF No Mercy.

Anyway since I loved this console artist’s work I sent my SNES to him and had him make it into this design that I worked out with him from art concept directions that I gave him.

I think it turned out well.

I believe he had to use a different top shell than my original childhood console’s though because the ABS plastic becomes brittle with age and often crumbles in shipping to him or anyone especially if you send your cherished retro consoles to modders for repairs or upgrades etc.

Anyway I chose the DKC theme for it because not only do I also love that game as well but more importantly it won the console war for Nintendo at the time with the Genesis since Sonic had momentarily put Sega ahead.
