I personally sometimes do and sometimes don't. Like there have been some moments in my life- where I go to uni currently, the people I met etc that was never pre planned by me it's like a godly universe playing it's string together to get me here. And hence any extremely long term plans like what u would do ten years from now, how u would look etc are all futile and to leave it in the hands of fate.

Ten years ago I thought I would hv a gf be popular be in one of the best universities of my country.

That didn't happen. I go to a fairly decent uni, have no gf, few friends at all.

One good caveat being I was always fat so never could envision a future me that wouldn't be fat but I am pretty thin now.

Fate is so real, everything that happens is by the design and wisdom of Allah.

It's a cruel fate when it comes to dating; it's nonexistent

It can be destiny to everything else; we basically have a permanent debuff to anything we want to achieve.

it was all decided before you were born you had no say in the matter

Yes, even genetic determinism. I think its possible to change it a bit but not enough

Even if you don't believe in religion, you have to admit that the universe is a state machine with state transitions determined by clear natural laws. There is no escaping determinism.

If by "fate" or "destiny" you mean outcomes being influenced by magical/mystical/supernational forces, then no.

But if you are simply using those words as synonyms for "determinism" then occam's razor would say so, yes.

In a universe that is is governed by causality, hard determinism is the most logcial position. I don't believe determinism is or ever will be possible to escape and I don't believe in free will because I don't believe in magic.

Not in the way of some form of supernatural forces and such but destiny and or fate in terms of things being near unavoidable like they were always meant to happen, yeah i can buy into that.

My fate was to be incel

Of course fate is extant. You don't know something called gene? That's your fate.

I am a loser it was predicted before i came out the pussy

Your face, height, parents education, country are your fate.

If you are a shortcel ugly mofo in india good luck to have a good " fate " .

Of course, most of your life is rigged from the start.

determinism, god's plan, fate, destiny. whatever you want to call it, it is real

regardless if it's real or not, believing in determinism provides some level of comfort.

It'd be weird not to believe in it.
