Do you believe in aliens?

The government has confirmed ufos. It's kindve hard not to believe at this point

Civilized aliens 100% exist but we will never see them since they're far from our galaxy.

Tricky question. Given how huge the universe is, it's pretty much a sure thing that there exist some kind of extraterrestrial life form out there. But I don't think we have encountered it yet

Yes
They live in District 9 in central Johannesburg

Yes, come and take me with you, spooky motherfuckers.

Nigga things like emotion or morals is unlikely as fuck for them to have.
Why? Evolution is always based and guided by pain, accelerated by pain; and to experience mental pain, there need to be emotions. Once you have emotions, morals come out naturally.

In short: without pain, both mental and physical, there cant be evolution. So if we encounter some alien race, evolved enough to manage space exploration, then it's almost certain that they will have some form of emotions. These "emotions", though, could be very different from ours...

I dont trust the government at all but they're not lying about that
They're lying about everything else, but not about that. Makes sense.

Sounds philosophical, the thing is we can't say anything about it.

There are two possible exceptions:

First is regarding the environment. If it's extremely different from ours, it might change completely the whole concepts of food water exercise and reproduction, not to mention the whole logic behind life. This could be the case for life forms not based on dna... basically a new type of life form, never ever encountered before. At that point, who knows, it might actually come out as a logical Vulcan-like race.

Second exception... is artificially engineered life forms. Androids for example, made by a race similar to ours, that eventually went extinct (o that is still there, enslaved to the androids... or co-existing). While it is theoretically possible to program emotions into androids, it is kinda hard to do it, not to mention unhelpful. It's up to the creators wishes, really.
This race, the androids, would be the best suited for interstellar space travel: they live forever (a thousands years space trip isnt a problem), they require no life support, only a minimal amount of maintenance and energy, immune to any kind of diseases illnesses radiations, infinitely able to repair and restore (mind backups), infinitely patient resolved and not scared of anything, infinitely smarter and more knowledgeable.
Once created, they'd soon invade and conquer the whole universe; only another android race would stand a chance against them... in a big enormous intergalactic war

sci fi shit:feelsseriously: the thing is this stuff is out of our understanding so i don't bother thinking about it.

Yes but they're not beings from other planets and whatnot, but rather, demons.

There is one in our midst @erenyeager

Yea and theyre the Psi kind of aliens. Like in the edge of tomorrow.

Not the traditional UFO technological type when we think of ETs. Which is a human biased way of looking at the universe,

Psi aliens travel and communicate via space-time manipulation.

This, but I voted No anyway because the thread probably implies ones that are close enough to come into contact with us.

basically this my take on this is tbh
1.there is other civilizations this gay earth would/should have been nuked to shit or used to harvest resources.
2.Life exist in other planets but not intelligent enough to communicate
3.Every civilization got destroyed before they could reach type 3 civ therefore impossible to find proof other "aliens" exists.

I agree. + There are likely several 'great filters' that prevent any civilisation ever truly reaching Typer III.

they exist out there somewhere

interesting. isn't all pain mental though

It's also interesting to know that what we see on the galaxy map, today, it's the past. The information we receive by watching at the stars, is billions-trillions light years old... meaning that there could already be galactic empires out there, and we wouldn't have a clue.

Also we and all other civilizations (life forms) start from the Bing Bang, a common starting point. The story of this universe, "this dimension", is being written right now. A couple thousands years is nothing, considering how long it takes to develop sustainable intergalactic space travel. And we are separated by quadrillion years of space travel... so even it's a civilization has some delay evolving, it's not a big deal. But it's still a race.

The earth itself, can sustain life only for another billion year, that's how long we have (prolly less) to develop space travel before we go extinct. At that point, we'd all roam the universe, in search of resources and alternative planets. And then, we will encounter all the other civilizations out there... if not before, if we are thorough and start space colonization earlier than them.

All of that, till this universe and dimension go cold... and all life in itself ends. But maybe, we find a solution to even that: dimensional travel for example, or some way to restart the whole universe (a new Bing Bang).

they probably do exist statistically speaking

I used to. But nowadays I have ceased to believe there is anything even remotely interesting about this world. We're probably alone and just a one in a trillion trillion accident.

There are no aliens, but there are certainly other sapient and intelligent species here on earth. They live in another dimension. You might know them as spirits and demons.

Yes.

I don't believe aliens have visited earth because it boils down to the speed of light being so slow. There's not many stars within 200 light years, but imagine some aliens on a planet 200 light years away deciding to visit Earth. If they can travel at near the speed of light they would've had to leave their planet in the 1800's to be here today. But humans didn't even have radio signals back then. The aliens would've been recieving light from Earth in the 1600's, long before electricity was discovered. Do you think an alien race would travel for 400 years round trip to a planet that might not be inhabited and then play hide and seek with whatever lifeforms they find there?

It just doesn't make any fucking sense why aliens would behave like that. The UFOs the US Navy released have to have a different explanation.

Yes I do and they are know to us as foids.

If they had telescopes they would see us 4 billion years ago I think

It would be virtually impossible for there not to be aliens due the size of the universe, like you would have better odds of winning the lotto daily.

Now, if you mean intelligent life like us with spacefaring tech that goes to our planet, then those odds decrease dramatically.

I doubt they're out there.

But Fox Mulder would be proud of the results of this poll! XD

Yes, given how vast the Universe is, it would be foolish to discard the existance of other lifeforms be it Carbonbased or some other bullshit, heck they could be way more advanced than us-
