It is a redundant argument. Human beings are wired to love beauty. Men like beautiful women for the same reason they enjoy a beautiful landscape, or a beautiful piece of art. Are you being superficial when you are engrossed by looking at something like this?
Are you being superficial when you prefer this to a jumble of screeching noises?
It's a silly argument. Yes, there can be a superficial and even vulgar aspect to beauty, and a lot of people nowadays are vulgar and coarse, but that's not the same to say that to admire beauty in itself implies one is vulgar or coarse.
With all this said, i find it amusing that when women were told they had to be "beautiful" in this higher sense that was oppression according to feminists. See, women have a right to be coarse and vulgar, say the same feminists who argue men are the superficial ones who only see women as sexual objects to abuse. Interesting, isn't it? Almost as if women can't perceive this higher aspect of beauty, and are firmly stuck in the material and the superficial, and don't understand that some men see something spiritual in the beauty of a woman, and are deeply wounded when the "personality" of the woman ruins all that.
