I was very surprised after stalking Facebooks for a few days.
Literally everyone from my high school whose Facebook I check, even if they are graduated from college, maybe like 1 or 2 out of every 50 or 60 is working some decent entry/mid level job at a corporation. Everyone would be 25-26 at this point. Even the smartest and most talented people I knew in high school are working dead end retail jobs or are stuck in university limbo, or are graduated from college and either can't find a job or are working in said dead end retail jobs. The people I know who got any entry level quaternary sector job got it through direct connections with friends/family/military/being rich.
Is the job market this fucked everywhere for people around my age? It's like there are absolutely NO quaternary sector entry level jobs. This whole Facebook stalking thing and some complaints from IRLs has me genuinely scared that I won't find a job once I graduate (STEM degree so not particularly worthless) and I'll be stuck making sub $25 an hour at some retail job for the rest of my life.
