My main focus of the thread was simply that in hunter gatherer times and times before that, women never had a chance to select at all, and from any point forward we all know that men implemented patriarchal norms to where they still did no selecting, like you pointed out, fathers selecting their husbands, but I wanted to avoid things that had less to do with advanced social changes and more to do with just the straight forward biological reality of men being stronger than women (which shoots straight at the ridiculous notion that "beta males" were just accepting rejection and not simply raping women)
