Watching dragonball z and playing rpg games gave me the idea to increase my power level and skills. A lot of us waste time watching shows and playing games where we increase a character's power level while we neglect to increase our own power level. Some spend months building their character to be as strong as possible, meanwhile they sit hunched back on a chair eating donuts and derritos.

The reason building a character on a screen seems easier than building ourselves is because we got used to putting our effort into that purpose. Watching 18 seasons of dragon ball z to see goku keep increasing his power level takes effort too. I would rather do 50 pushups than play a game or watch a show I won't benefit from. Obviously you can't work out constantly to give your muscles a chance to rebuild, and these games and shows can be good at inspiring you to build yourself, but after a certain point where you know you're not benefiting from the show or game any more, you have to limit it or avoid it.

I work out, also wached DBZ but I never was inspired by DBZ. Rocky has inspired me ngl.

If only we had a gravity simulator room so we can train in times 10 gravity.

I got ripped because of shonen anime

Fist of The North Star is more badass than Dragon Ball Z...

It's a shame that the normies meme'd it into normalcy...

I never seen that show, I can use a new one to help motivate me.

No, my short period of working out was influenced by watching 1960’s Surf movies and seeing how men used to look. I lost like 80lbs and gained muscle. I was skinny through most of high school but started putting on weight once I started working and not finding time to cook for myself, also alcohol.

Then I realized that I was a healthy weight but no girl ever noticed or cared even when I was jacked, so I kinda gave up and have slowly gotten fat again. 60% of women 18 to 29 are obese in American, so being jacked and trying to ask them out is just inflating their ego. I also have a chronic illness that makes me undateable, so I don’t really give a fuck anymore.

Effort of going to near death a bunch of times? Real life Zenkai boosts do not exist, sorry to break it to ya.

You can pump and dump them to deflate their egos. Working on being strong and healthy, even if it won't get you laid, is more productive than watching a show or playing a game that won't benefit you at all.

I don’t have the health or face to pump and dump sadly. It’s also against my religion.

You'll get the health after a while then you can save to get surgeries for your face. Most the foids who are part of your religion are getting pumped and dumped anyway, no point saving yourself for an old used rostie who rode the cock carousel in her prime years.

Check out the old 80's original series with sub, the Japanese voice acting will raise your t levels.

Fighting is for men, it's "normal" for them to be the primary victim of violence. What is abnormal, and that is something i cannot stand, is women fighting men.

Based old anime knew this too:

But feminism has infected Japan too it seems.

I would say that despite it's relative low animation quality Fist of the North Star is the best anime ever produced because all the hero characters are actually likeable some of the villains are very relatable whilst some of them are absolute pieces of shit that deserve the horrible deaths they are dealt etc. Fist of the North star is just what true justice looks like. Kenshiro comes off as a mary sue lawfag but he really isn't nothing actually comes easy to him he lost his family and had to do grueling training his entire life to achieve mastery over the art of hokuto shinken and he gets routinely defeated by stronger opponents and faces so much loss and heartbreak. He pretty much is just kung fu jesus.

I don't have a problem with the animation in Fist of the North Star, but the filler was really bad, especially on the "Shin" arc (which was over in the comic in four volumes but they stretched that to infinity in the anime).

Kenshiro fighting tanks and warships that stuff was just atrocious (and in an over the top setting that's really saying something. Also that episode with the wizard it was just bad). Mercifully they more or less stick close to the comic after that. I'm guessing the fans of the manga probably sent some angry letters to whoever made the anime so they cut that crap out.

So to whoever wants to watch the anime now, just keep in mind it gets better once they start keeping the filler to a minimum, about the time he defeats Shin and on.

Also yes, original dub is best. Just watch with subtitles the show is not hard to follow. Also, beware of manly tears. I cri everytiem when i watch the scene where Shu dies.

I picked yes. I didn't decide to gymcel after watching db, but I am sure that db has influenced me on a subconscious level. It showed me that training is fun and that any man can get stronger if he believes in himself.

i never liked dragonball even as a kid

I started because I was obese and figured (rightly) that getting fit would increase my chances of ascending from inceldom by multitudes.

Little did I know, my chances were zero to begin with. Zero times anything is zero. I still do it because being fit is great.

A lot of people at my school gym wore that z fighter top

dragonballs is overrated, I didn't watch and it's boring

Me too, I started working out a long time after I watched it, but it planted the seed that put my health and fitness in the right trajectory.

Same with me. I was 5'11" and 227 pounds in freshman year of highschool. From being routinely bullied and watching dbz I had no choice but to lose weight. I didn't know what I was doing that long ago but I managed to get to 185 by senior year. I wasn't visibly fat with clothes, but I still wasn't happy because I wanted to be shredded, not skinny fat. So I went to youtube and researched for years to find the best diets, after trying over 10 different ones - 8 months ago I found out about intermittent fasting and plant based keto, which seem to be working the best so far. When I was on the other diets I worked out sporadically, maybe because the diets I was on weren't giving me fast enough results, but I always had the thought of increasing my power level to motivate me into working out, and after trying intermittent fasting it was the first time I worked out consistently for over 6 months, so now I'm at 165 but my goal is to increase my strength a lot more and get down to 155 as my walk around weight.

I tried fasting and keto for the longest time and couldn't escape skinny fat mode. It wasn't until I switched to a high-carb low-fat approach with multiple meals a day, and short cycles of dieting down and bulking up, when I started seeing results. Right now I'm 165-170 at 5'9'' and around 12% body fat according to the Navy tape measure test.

My biggest weight ever was around 285 lbs, but I was around 255 when I made the final commitment to lose weight and get lean.

High carb multiple meals throughout the day is how I used to eat when I was a strict vegan. I didn't work out that much back then but I wasn't losing lots of weight, it may have helped me maintain my weight though.

It's all caloric balance in the end. There's nothing special about high-carb or high-fat. Personally, I don't like being lethargic all the time and having to be anal-retentive with the food scale with the fasting and high-fat low-carb approach. Now I can just use measuring cups and be confident that I'm hitting my calorie goals, and my energy and mood are better now that I'm not restricting carbs as much. I'd crave carbs all the time on low-carb, but I never craved fats at all on high-carb, and now I find pretty much all high-fat food to be gross except for nuts and pastries.

I don’t watch retarded gay anime

I used to be like that when I was hooked on carbs too, but after forcing myself to cut them out for two weeks I stopped craving them as much. I still eat carbs from low glycemic fruits like raspberries and strawberries, and sometimes a spoon full of raw honey on my bi-weekly carb cycling days. I don't really count grams and make measurements anymore after I figured out a routine I can stick to. I agree the fats don't taste that good but they help keep insulin from spiking and keep me full during intermittent fasts because they burn slower than carbs. I just make sure to take psyllium husk daily to have enough fiber.

Insulin hasn't been a problem for me. People keep calling it "the fat storing hormone" but I lose fat just fine eating high-carb and so do a lot of other lean people. Just looking at the science, I don't see how insulin is a problem for anyone who isn't already very unhealthy.

Maybe you have a fast metabolism that can deal with insulin better. People with high metabolisms shouldn't be on low carb diets.

I seem to just have the worst of both types.

That sucks. My metabolism is very slow so I gain fat almost instantly after a meal, but I can also gain muscle easily.

Never watched DBZ.
Taxi Driver made me want to workout, but I’m not actively gymceling as I see no gain from it anymore.
