Even if the M to F ratio were the same or if there were slightly more women, women would still choose to date the top 20 percent of men. I graduated high school 11 years ago and in those times you could get a gf even if you weren't average. The thing that changed it all happened in the mid and late 2010s, this is when social media became an integral part of our lives, and it raised women's ego to the point of delusion. I would venture to say most young women are single and simply delude themselves into thinking they have a Chad or rich bf when in reality they're just part of his harem. Even if you put yourself in a setting with 10 other women they would not feel the urge to date you because they know there are higher status men than you they can hope to get with online.
