I doubt that the state is too disturbed about the paltry amount of ERs, whose individualistic and narcissistic rampages are just a blip on the radar. On the contrary, the state is concerned about collective action which might actually threaten its power, so perhaps the demographic research is meant to reveal what divides incels moreso than what unites them, in an effort to find "fracture points" to exploit and promote infighting/factionalism.

It has nothing to do with taxes, whatever the original purpose of surveys may have been. If it was about appeasement of incels, I would expect the (((media))) narrative to be far more benevolent and sympathetic. Instead, they paint us as terrorists. Taxes are also difficult to influence by fiat because the issue is tangled up in state regulations.
