Hafthor could have pulled a solid 505 that day but he "settled" with 501. Still impressive.

Now I present you 4 lifters who have the potential to break Thor's 501

1.) Rauno Heinla

His max PR is 470

2.) Ivan Makarov

His personal best is 490 with suit but Ivan has some lockout issues and he barely pulled that 490 makes me doubt his chances of pulling a 502.

He did tried for the record last year but failed.

3.) Asko Karu

He pulled 482 recently and made it look easy. Holy shit.

I'd say he mogs Ivan and Rauno right now.

But, at last we have a beast and closest to breaking the record.

It's

4.) Peiman Maheripourehir

Lifted 492 two days ago. Absolutely insane. Some say he didn't lock out I call bullshit..That was a good clean lift based on strongman standards.

Here's him lifting 492(with suit of course)

This is the third highest deadlift ever.

Its only been one year since the 501 lift and we already have so many lifters capable of breaking the record. Really makes you think if Thor should have gone for the 505 or even 510(?) instead.

Also interesting to note that 400kgs used to be world record level lift about a decade ago but now people be deadlifting 400 for multiple reps easy.

Crazy how far we've come in genetics + drugs in just 10 years. Not only that but also the psychologic barrier of 500. Now elite lifters know it can be done.

Next few year would be really interesting ngl. Let's just wait and watch.

In tests at the Bronx Zoo in 1924, a dynamometer--a scale that measures the mechanical force of a pull on a spring--was erected in the monkey house. A 165-pound male chimpanzee named "Boma" registered a pull of 847 pounds, using only his right hand (although he did have his feet braced against the wall, being somewhat hip, in his simian way, to the principles of leverage). A 165-pound man, by comparison, could manage a one-handed pull of about 210 pounds. [...] In dead lifts, chimps have been known to manage weights of 600 pounds without even breaking into a sweat. A male gorilla could probably heft an 1,800-pound weight and not think twice about it.

male gorilla is 300lbs to 500lbs in weight

Yup they strengthmog even the strongest men quite easily

And im here barely deadlifting 200kg like a fucking bitch.
200 is very respectable what are you on about? That's approaching advance levels for a natural lifter.
