Two young men from Texas were indicted after prosecutors say they plotted to take over Haiti’s Gonave Island.
The plan allegedly involved killing all the men, exploiting women and children, and even recruiting homeless people to join their coup.
One of them joined the U.S. Air Force for training, while the other tried fire academy and sailing lessons but failed both.
Both face conspiracy and child pornography charges, with possible sentences up to life in prison.
Their lawyers insist the plot was never real and call the case “crazy.”
