Dark Souls is just bad. I'm sorry.

Even old platformers are trial and error. Learning enemy attack patterns is something you have to do in other games as well.

I love the franchise, and I consider it to be a massive inspiration of mine. But the games are as hard as you make them. You could have an easy run specing into strength and vigor, just holding shield. Or you can spec into another build. The difficulty is dependent on you.

Yup. I did no damage/naked/lvl 0/starting weapon boss fights in some of the fs games and it takes time to learn enemy patterns, so I'm not sure I would even call that a 'skill', just time sink. I did the same in old platformers because I personally found it fun and enjoyed the feeling of accomplishing it.

Some games and playstyles can be harder than others obviously but most of the games are designed so you are able to beat them after getting familiar enough. There are exceptions and those usually involve rng elements but even then you get better by putting time in, you just have to persist.

only reason people glaze lies of p is cause they made it eaasier then the dark souls, why dont you use different wepons or go magic
I did bro i used the magic route help a friend, its ok.

Mate has massive bias for his crappy Tendy games (or Monster Hunter) so they get a pass but other franchises that he has no nostalgia for them are BAD because he has to use different part of his brain and he hates it. He just wants to Bing Bang Wahoo.

Dark Souls doesn't take anything outside of memorization. As long as you can remember things you'll beat it. Barely any brain power needed.

Go play a proper game like Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask.

Trial and error level design is not good. It's not clever. It's nothing but a waste of time. The game isn't actually that challenging. It's just annoying. Uninstalled. Glad I only pirated it. If I want an actual hard game I'll play Monster Hunter on G rank or Castlevania.
Too difficult for me

The only difficult part about ocarina of time and majora mask are the puzzle the boss are not that hard

Based. I dont even want to try this series. I generally say the same thing about it although i never played it :feelsEhh: the community seems arrogant and i dislike the hype

They just want to brag online

Community definitely sucks, invaders especially, chasethebro copy pastes. r/badredman is the cringiest subreddit ever.

There are a lot of people who never really played challenging games and feed their ego of fs games even tho you can make most of them easy, except maybe sekiro.

These are the people who would have a reality check playing some of the old beat em ups and platformers. The old way, no saves/auto saves and such. Pure gameplay and persistence.

it got normified fast but what's the issue with invaders?

sekiro is easier if ur not using an OP build or cheese like spirit ashes

Tedious shit

1. They are elitist assholes bashing casuals and they have no original idea for a build. Most of them at least.

2. I personally find souls and elden ring easier than sekiro. They are pretty much the same game for me, sekiro and bloodborne tried something different and I had to adapt. They are also more restrictive so I had to focus on fundamentals.

3. Kinda but you can't deny it's challenging. As a kid it took me some time to get good enough to beat battletoads & double dragon in one sitting. When I did I was able to repeat it and it felt satisfying seeing my effort finally paying off.

invaders always have much more diverse builds since they're almost always better than the casual hosts.

misparrying is less punishing than misdodging and u can kill bosses through parrying alone (i.e u don't have to learn attack windows). malenia and pre-nerf promised consort radahn are much harder than anything from sekiro if u don't cheese.
3. Kinda but you can't deny it's challenging.
not in a good way. i never look back on the boss runbacks fondly

1. Their playstyle and builds are just copy pastes of chasethebro and the likes. Build 'variety' is not really theirs that's why I said "no original idea". They are also super boring to vs, even when you want to 1v1 they hide and run for eternity which makes co op waste of your time. And of course casuals don't have optimal builds since most of them are just chilling with friends. I have criticism for them too, this is not a 'vs' btw. I just find invaders insufferable narcissists and dislike that community more.

2. "If you don't cheese". Easier to cheese tho. Of course you can make any game harder if you don't use everything it gives you.

3. To each their own. Even as older I decided to revisit rondo of blood to beat the bosses without taking damage and only using basic attack. I enjoyed it.

u have to hit and run when ur up against a gank with overleveled phantoms. as for build variety ppl figure out what's meta overtime with or without guides. the fact remains that invaders have way more diverse builds. hosts have the overwhelming advantage especially with flasks and FP to spam spells and ashes of war. ppl are only crying now cuz they weren't on DS3 which had solo invasions (actual skill check).

cheese means shit the devs didn't balance properly.

do u play hades?

1. I never claimed otherwise. I said they have no original idea for a build from my observation.
2. I dunno, when I used everything I could I didn't have much trouble with any souls/elden boss compared to sekiro. The hardest thing for me in elden ring was beating tree sentinel with starting character without taking dmg, which was self imposed challenge.
3. I didn't try it but I might check it out, thanks. Although I have no motivation to play much these days or the energy. I just rot on my phone for the most part.

i couldn't beat hades and hades 2. it's really hard and has the tedious difficulty u described.

which did u play first?
Dark souls
Demon souls
Dark souls 3
Sekiro
Elden ring
Bloodborne
Dark souls 2

I am not 100% sure if I played bloodborne or dark souls 2 first tho.

perhaps u were plenty used to fromsoft's formula by the time u played elden ring? idk a single sekiro boss as hard as malenia.

I think I spent more time on owl and last boss in sekiro than any other in fs games. Subjective experience tho and of course it depends on playstyle.

I did play dark souls for the first time in 2012, and some clones as well going further so it probably helped with elden ring. I didn't restrict myself much in er besides tree sentinel fight I mentioned, and one playthrough where I stayed on lvl105 for pvp at the time. I really enjoyed er btw, I played it more than any other fs game.

I like all the souls games the only part in any one of them I hate is the parkour section to get the frenzied flame ending in Elden ring and the final boss fight in sekiro

souls games r overrated

finally someone said truth

Or Zweihander to stun 90% of enemies with each hit from a safe distance
Me personally I like using different weapons on each run, but my favourite is probably the halberd. God I love the moveset on that thing.
