Crushing feeling when realizing you aren't special

This has been hitting me hard as of late.

I used to cope with making music. Thought I had something different to say, something the world was missing out on...

Nope.

I am just human number 6,987,018,077....

No thoughts are profound anymore. There is nothing new and important to say or do.

I am the below average man.

Absolutely nothing about me is exceptional.

I blame cartoons and modern parents for filling my head with, "You can be whatever you want!" — "You're incredibly special, one of a kind!"

Now as I approach 30, it is blatantly clear that is a total lie.

I relate a lot to this. For a few years, I thought I would end up doing something. Maybe not becoming rich and famous, but creating something that people could look at and enjoy something I had made.
