My biggest fear is that they will make it completely bare bones at the launch so they can sell dlcs. That would be fucked up since everyone could just play ck2 and get a full experience

You get to role play as if your some all mighty ruler and watch your empire grow. With ck2 it's even better because you have to handle your court and family
