I wouldn't be surprised that if the trend keeps happening, that the average guy will eventually be so tall that it will tank our average life expectancy to be back in the 40s or 50s like it was like 200 years ago, and the average guy will also be in a wheelchair before then. Once you surpass a certain height, it causes lots of medical problems (especially cardiovascular) and will lead to an early death. Kind of like what sexual selection did to male deer.

Forcing women to "like" me would be hollow and unsatisfying—though still better than the current state—so it's more of a last resort, and in such a case preventative measures should be taken to avoid the scenarios you described.
Of course, most of this is intangible at the moment, but it would be a more efficient way to contain these problems long-term, hence containment is technically possible.
