Once, all was perfect
I was a full of hope and wonder
The world was a place anew
A place to discover beauty and love
A blank page to paint with any color of my choosing...

Once, I awoke with newfound joy and utmost respect
For all things living and dead
And I smiled at strangers
Because we are all so much alike
Much more alike than different

Now, I am full of hatred and sadness
I am dying
I am dying
I am dying
I am dying

Once, I looked upon a world of vibrancy
And that vibrancy was an illusion
