Copulins are a specific group of volatile fatty acids found in vaginal secretions Some studies (mostly from the 1970s–1990s) suggested that copulins might influence male hormone levels and possibly affect male perception of female attractiveness. Human oriented studies suggested that male participants exposed to synthetic copulin mixtures might show changes in testosterone, altered judgments of women’s attractiveness, or altered mate guarding perceptions.
