Interesting idea but VTOL sucks. Vertical flying is battling against gravity itself (like a helicopter) and it demands the usage of unusually powerful engines (think the Harrier) that will consume tons of fuel.

Interesting idea but VTOL sucks. Vertical flying is battling against gravity itself (like a helicopter) and it demands the usage of unusually powerful engines (think the Harrier) that will consume tons of fuel.

As well as heating up the engines to a point of failure... However, forward flight, on this thing, uses the wings for lift.

It's more of a harrier than a helicopter
