There are lots of jobs out there are are skilled, well paid, and accessible (as in you don't have to go to school for 10 years and accumulate high amounts of debt), but those jobs aren't seen as romantic and glamorous. Normal young people with healthy egos and social lives seem to believe they are too good for those jobs so when they whine about being "unable to find a job", they don't even consider those jobs as an option.

That's how I roll too. I became a bit of a scumbag in my late teens and then I cleaned up and went to college, I got a job. I did these things because all I wanted was to be like everyone else. All those kids I went to school with. I wanted to be like them. But I'm not like them. I was never like them and I never will be like them. I've only recently realized that I will always be alone. Now I don't care. If I lost my job next week, I wouldn't look for another one. I'd rot. At least then I wouldn't have to SUCK IT UP and force a SMILE when someone makes another wisecrack about how I look like a 17 year old boy.

If someone wants to work 20 hours a day, let them. & if some elderly person or guy with downsydrome wants to get paid $1 an hour picking up trash in a parking lot just to having something to do, let them. But let the businesses offer their shitty oppurtunities, and if they find no one wants to apply, then they'll have to adapt, but as it is right now, we're just killing potential employment. There's a reason why there's not more menial subhuman work available., because the artificial wage rate makes it unprofitable for the businesses to keep these dumb jobs. That's why there's so much more automation now too.
