Does any religiouscel experienced inner conflict between religious teachings and societal expectations? For example, from the normie soycietal point of view, self-preservation is something shameful for a man, even to the point of cowardice. While in the Bible self-preservation is normal.

Religions also teach you that anger is bad while normgroid soyciety encourages men to express anger as the only acceptable emotion.
Also females often fall for false bravado and boldness and dislike guys who act too good ( like they preach in religious books ).

The only real battle is between our sinful nature and Christ's consciousness. But i am well every that society expects you to be some kind of a playboy, before the marriage and courting was a contract between people and a God, now it's an obligation for men only but women get the prize if they decide to cash out their chips.

Jesus let himself get impaled on a stick by Romans even tho he is God and lots of saints are idiot martyrs how's that for self-preservation

Martyrs didn't provoked persecutions by themselves. They reacted to persecutions.
While revolutionaries and anarchists of XIX-XX centuries often attacked government forces first like false leftist icon Che Guevara.

They intentionally went to places they know that Christians aren't welcome and naturally got killed by the natives :feelswhat:
