9mm. It shoots tighter groupings, because of the lower recoil. Mags are going to be higher ammo count (you should always count as you shoot). Ammo is also much cheaper, and the caliber is universal across the globe - the .45 ACP is an American caliber. Yeah, it hits harder, but that doesn't matter when you're able to throw more rounds, more accurately in the same amount of time.
