The train of thought here is that we are entitled to life, literally living, and we can’t do that without money, so we‘re entitled to money.

They dont realize that loneliness can cause our body to produce hormones that negatively impact our health, so realistically being lonely is actually killing us. If we’re entitled to life, we really should be entitled to a companion.

I don't disagree with progressive taxation or even government transfers as a matter of policy.

But I believe the proper and moral justification for such taxation is a combination of a Lockean social contract and utilitarianism (i.e. the most efficient way to raise X amount of government revenue).

"I have a natural right to take a richer person's property" is a pretty arbitrary and flawed justification for taxation and social policy.
