Because of communication technology which includes internet , mobile phone ,telephone, smartphone everyone is in contact with everyone . This makes very hard for anyone to be satisfied with their current partner and people always keep on looking for new partners which has killed monogamy.

Before internet or telephone , things were not bad . Most people were lifelong monogamous .

Even if someone married a woman having a ex-bf , he could still have a successful marriage as there is no way the woman can contact her ex-bf or new men.
