College is not a bad option for many (srs)

Srs. I work in finance. I have degrees in acct and finance.


I just sit about doing some data entry work. When I am free (which is most of the day) I just play around on my phone. When my boss is gone on vacation or traveling, I just use the internet and play on my phone. I live w/ my parents to save $$$.

No dealing with shit customers or physical labor. The only issue is that I have to see ugly, disgusting, filthy landwhales everywhere. Probably the fattest "people" on planet earth. But I am trying to get a new/better job so I likely won't have to see all these zoo animals anymore anyways. Outside of seeing those animals, its not that bad.

But if you make it, it could be good money, but even then it needs to be something you enjoy I think, but I can't say much on that aspect as I've never really TRULY entered the job market.

Accounting is easy, just need to practice calculus is doable, just need to practice a lot.

No need to calc. Just basic algebra II and the math classes that all the marketing/management majors take.

I've heard though that whilst the salary for accounting is more stable, in the long term it doesn't grow by much if you get better at it or higher in the career, however you have more flexibility when it comes to switching careers as an accountant.

finance has more salary growth potential, but you need to be skilled and know what to look for because it's also more competitive and less flexible if you switch careers.

yes this^. also even attempts at outsourcing accounting have been unsuccessful. the most thats really outsourceable is menial clerical work. corporations generally don't trust their audits to be handled by people all the way in india
