Theory Closest thing to a femcel is fictional - Carrie White (1976)

To me "Carrie" isn't a horror movie, but a sad tale of very American bullying and abuse. She's a fictional femcel even though in the movie Sissy Spacek is playing Carrie so she's above average looking. Carrie was a 2/10 in the book (overweight, acne-prone, stringy hair, bullied hard, socially awkward). I identify with Carrie and always have (except for the wanting to kill people part).

Yeah but he only asked her to the prom because his friends pressured him to do it so they could torment her there.

It seemed like he genuinely started to like her, in the 2013 film at least. Maybe I’ll give it a rewatch, and the older one too. I bought both films some years back.
