I wrote burgercels because this is primarily a US thing, where having a big mouth is more important than quantitative ability
I often wondered why the whore that majored in Psychology, the Tyrone that majored in sociology on an athlete scholarship, or the obnoxious argumentative Chad-lite business major are more successful than I am, despite majoring in crap that any cretin with a pulse can earn? Have a read (though it is kind of long)
studybreaks.com
My favorite part of the article:
Jessica Lahey is a high school teacher who is active about voicing her support for forced participation. She says, “As a teacher, it is my job to teach grammar, vocabulary and literature, but I must also teach my students how to succeed in the world we live in — a world where most people won’t stop talking. If anything, I feel even more strongly that my introverted students must learn how to self-advocate by communicating with parents, educators and the world at large.”
Basically, the school system trains and encourages you to be low-inhib, extroverted, and to talk shit even if you're wrong; it's those people that succeed, not the guy (like yours truly) that busted his ass taking a bunch of advanced math classes, writing a thesis, and field research experience.

Should Colleges Implement Forced Participation?
You would have gotten a letter grade higher if it weren't for the pesky participation points.
