When you take a look at Catholicism and everything you have to do to enter heaven it's almost impossible. I’m pretty sure everything in your post is related to an extreme interpretation of Christianity and not the actual religion itself.

Remember that in religion, the only rules that matter are the words of God, not what a priest says or preaches. It’s a phenomenon I see in all religions: priests saying nonsense because they want to be extreme or because they want to manipulate people to their own will.

It’s easier to keep people donating to a church if you make it mandatory to confess to a priest. Confessing isn't necessarily a bad thing on paper, but making it mandatory questions the almighty power of God, who is supposed to know everything since He built the world and he is supposed to receive your confession just by talking to him.

You see what I mean? Also, it doesn’t make sense when religious people act as if forgiveness doesn't exist in God. Humans can forgive a lot; why wouldn't God? When you think about it, extremely religious people often unknowingly act in a very disrespectful way toward God by making Him a reflection of human flaws (like the inability to forgive). If God is supposed to be Perfection, that must include forgiveness for the weak and the desperate.
