This is a very American thing I think. Little Miss Baby Queen, Little Miss Toddler Fair Queen, Little Miss Princess Pageant. Trotting out toddlers in makeup and adult clothes. It's interesting how almost all of them are blond too, at least in some pageants. Blond hair is the ideal beauty standard. And their moms take this stuff extremely seriously too. Imagine the ego and narcissism of these "beauty princesses" and daddy's princesses when they grow up.

Could be. I think it's just one of those dumb traditions handed down by the unthinking through the generations. Mom was a beauty princess queen in 1985 so her daughter will be too. Or sometimes the former "queens" and "princesses" run the pageants.
