For reference my brother killed himself, I pretty much have a 10 year gap of grief where I basically did nothing and can remember nothing, and it wasn't until I visited where his ashes were dispersed I was able to move on. Its about 19 years since now and my mother is still crippled with grief by it. This was my older brother who whilst I was close with, its hardly the same bond as husband and wife, the father of your children.
