And don't even get me started on how muh social media, the absolute favourite boogeyman of both the right and the left, and really of anyone above 30 I'd say, got well over twice as many percent from parents as bullying and pressure and expectations did combined, while on the other side, both social media and technology generally put together got less than those two, and even less so when you count school in along with them, as they honestly should be.

It's ridiculous how little attention bullying gets as a danger to children and teens.

Now think about the difference between how those two evils are perceived. Sexual abuse of children is seen as the worst of the worst. very interesting and not surprising. If you are in your 20s still, think about how much you remember from your childhood, how much you have forgotten. Now imagine yourself in 20-30 years. Thats literally your entire life, lived again, if you are like 22 rn basically. The older people get, the more of their childhood is replaced by fictions. Some dream they had at 20 turns into a "memory" by 60. Theres a reason old people are full of crazy nonsense stories that they claim they experienced. Unless you rigorously guard your memory by documenting everything and repeatedly reviewing your written down memories - journaling for example - this will happen to you, there is no way to avoid it.

Old people live materially better lifes than young people on average. Due to immediacy bias and people not being able to project their emotions into the past, aka not being able to recall what they felt at the time but instead interpreting everything through how they feel NOW, they can not remember how much they hated school, literally. I will list other effects that compound this in a second but research has found that older people that do not live better lives materially do not suffer from this effect. This is an optimism bias effect - the older people get, the more optimistic they become. There is a corollary called negativity bias. Now this is where it gets interesting - in the immediate moment, people have a negativity bias. But in the long term, looking back, they have an optimism bias. So people that complain now about the state of society, school etc will later look back fondly at those times. Keep that in mind.

3. In every generation people have a new boogieman to blame. In the past they used to blame books the same way they now blame smartphones and social media. Idk, I probably written it somewhere - public education doesn't get enough shit. People naturally focus on personal bad memories they had with other people, but miss the bigger picture - nigga you were locked in environment that facilitated those bad experiences FORCEFULLY BY THE GOVERNMENT. It’s hilarious how broken it is when you break it down – from age 7 all the way to 18 during your formative years that have biggest impact on how you turn out you are forced by the law to be locked up sometimes 40+ hours a week in some government facility every single working day with random kids that you don’t know (not that different from prison) in a sort of lord of the flies environment, doing absolutely JACKSHIT and dying out of boredom while being lorded over by neurotic women and insecure fags with insane ego (god I hate teachers and I’m glad that they earn peanuts).

We grew up in a world where public schools are completely normal, but when you think even a bit deeper it's obvious how ridiculous it really is. The entire fact that the people you are forced to spend years there interacting with daily are chosen completely randomly, with only the biggest idiots unable to progress through the grades, and, as you mentioned, even rich kids sometimes popping up there, is something that is only tolerated because adults are massively affected by the halo effect of kids' cuteness and seeming innocence, as well as their own warped memories of what childhood is, "for the next bunch of years, you'll be held in this place for hours every working day with your peers who you know nothing about," is something that is only tolerated because kids are seen as incapable of being a threat even to each other.
