I've only beaten it like 3 times without cheats (6 hours of total playtime)
and that's using a keyboard and a PC how did people beat those things on a CRT TV and original controller

What do you mean exactly? It's not like CRT TVs and the original NES controller are that inconvenient and primitive. CRTs are better for retro games anyway.

I've always emulated games on PC's so i've never played on a real "retro" console and TV Isn't there alot of input delay and screen flickering?
(I do like the CRT look though I sometimes play retro games with a CRT effect/filter on)

No, exact opposite actually since these games were made with CRTs in mind. The input lag is actually less when you play with original hardware
