I have a pretty strong sense that chin recession is a bad looks failo.
However, recently I've come to think that the "angularity" it might add to the face has some aesthetic value. It's like the face has more character than a typical flat face with a forward jaw.

No, gigacope. 175° is the optimal angle (brows, nasal base, chintip). Gonial angle, cheek bones and forward growth is what gives you the angularity and definition.

i should've realized I was just coming up with desperate copes here :incel:

the angularity is called g-sn-pg angle, which is important for the definition of face curvature. it depends on several factors that aren't limited to lower maxilla growth :what:

Angular measurements G Sn Pg angle of facial convexity G Prn Pg angle of total facial Q320

you are half-right with your statements about "angularity can be good looking" but the angularity is not what makes you look better.

you can DEFINITELY have a good face with recession because forward growth of the maxilla, while being important is only part of many facial structure elements that are considered attractive and aesthetic. this is a huge misconception among you can see the side profile examples of people below:

Brad Pitt Palm Film Festival

brad pitt is the best example of a chiseled faced chad with very average or even below average forward growth

some Russian/slav singer. notice how chiseled his face is despite having a recession and lack of forward growth.

the lower maxilla forward growth is very important and nothing negates it's status as one of the most important aspect of facial structure, however that doesn't mean you cannot pull chadface without it, you definitely can

the upper maxilla is more important to develope a good facial structure :blackpill::blackpill: only few people are aware of that fact. facial structure follows upper maxillary growth which acts as support for occular region which is very important too and acts as a lead for lower maxilla to reach, yes it can even have an effect on lower maxillary growth!

you may ask "what about those faces with smaller angles" well convexed faces are lacking in BOTH lower maxillary growth as well as having a small skull with recessed forhead. they can also be lacking in upper maxillary growth, in most cases they do.

@mistersinister I get what you say, but the ramus length looks quite normal in your examples. A question of head orientation. Saw people falling a lot for this. But ye midface structure is very important. There definitively are chads with no sailer face and ugly people with sailer face.

Meants with angularity, sharp anglesstructures. It's pretty visible in most good looking people. That front angle, is just not where it is important.

I mean it is obviously all kinda relative. If the browridge is in the right proportion to your short forward growth face, I guess you still could look ok.

If it’s not too bad, and you have other good features like hunter eyes and a small nose, then it might not be that big of a deal

thanks, this is a very conclusive post.

Yes it can but especially on females
yep, females win always.
narrow mouth? looks cute.
recessed chin? cute.
even that mouth breather looking slut billie eilish gets model treatment because she seems more attinable to thristy men.

true

Try to grow a beard to hide it

yep, on it

though part of me isn't pleased with the idea that my attraction would rely on having a fucking beard. it feels limiting, like I'm a fraud holding up a fake front.
