The other day I was in McDonalds (stop judging me!) and I saw this fat, nerdy, balding guy sitting with his two young children and skinny wife. Even though both he and his wife were a little older, (signaling that she had those children in her late-twenties/thirties), he seemed legitimately happy.

The woman didn't seem super-happy, so it's possible she will leave him, but given her advanced age it may be a little late for her to marry-up.

The only thing I noticed that was weird was that I was getting a strong east-European vibe from the woman. She seemed serious, dressed more conservatively, and was way skinnier than the average middle-aged American woman. Also she didn't say anything, she was only looking after the children.

The point of the story is that it got me wondering: can betabuxx-ers be happy? And if so, for how long?
