Most days were sunny plus there is a rainy season over there which is a plus bonus, where you have a legit reason to stay indoors for a weeks(no need to go out trying to "socialize"). I was living in Pattaya. Had no driver licence but had managed to learn how to handle a motorbike - police does not care if you have licence or not - the fine in like $15 if you got caught driving without it and it happens like once every few months at most.

In Bangkok interactions are transactional too. The rest of the country is basically a village. I am thinking about perma moving to Bangkok but its a huge effort meaning I have to learn their funny language, sinking in their basic, soap opera culture, etc. So maybe Manila instead, I don't know. But the fact is the only two places I felt like human was Thailand and Phillipines and I'am grateful to their habitants for this.
