One important note here... it's actually illegal to do what his parents did. Even ignoring the potential assault or harassment, legally he's a lodger there at 20. And under 18 I guess you have different rights because you're a minor but they're still probably quite powerful rights.

Even now that he's an adult you honestly CANNOT legally just chuck him out. You'd have to go through the legal process. That sounds harsh because it's their house, but this is his home. This is the roof over his head. You can't just chuck someone out onto the street on a whim.
