US manufacturing is declining. Trump now says that economy will boom in 2027.
Tariffs are whiplashes and jolts. They are too disruptive and harmful. Instead of imposing tariffs, Trump should've quietly tried to outcompete Chinese manufacturing and establish new supply chains domestically with the help of his AI tech oligarchs. That would've been a true Golden Age for America!
I've read that a lot of european companies are moving some factories into the us. But I guess it'll take time for them to be built. And honestly, I don't think the amount of open positions will be high enough to make some serious difference.

Ok, but honestly, how can You outcompete Chinese manufacturing when simply hourly rate and employment right are on the completely different levels? The sweatshop politics will never work in the us as it work in SEA and pajeetistans.
Yes due to tariffs and Trump's political pressure, but as you correctly pointed out, pain point is that these are long term developments with the results being subject to speculation.

That's the problem. Americans will have to live bug lifestyle like chinks and jeets who work 15 hours a day even with automation (developing sophisticated tech requires effort).

I agree, bug life is not worth it. I tried it myself and it destroyed my health. But this begs the question, what's the alternative? How can America and the West compete then? Previously, they used to compete by doing the high level innovations themselves while delegating grinding and degrading bug work to their slaves like chinks and jeets, but now those slave races have taken over the plantation, so what's the solution here?
In my opinion, working a loose job thats laid back and u can have earbuds in and do minimal work for 2-4 days a week is perfect
But would that allow you to compete with parties that are outproducing you at cheaper cost?
I mean all working a job is slavery, but u cant do nothing and get stuff, u gotta do some stuff to get some stuff. Personally I don’t need much except cigs, alchohol and games and noodles so I don’t think imma struggle with money
Yes, but I would get less money as I would be working part time. Immigrants and pakis are always going to steal jobs as they work for peanuts so I may aswell get paid less and work less rather than put my whole being into a job i hate
The US has all the resources it needs to produce all the manufacturing and industrial products it needs.
It should cut all trade with China, China is playing a long game where it will decimate Western Industry then pull the rug when we are reliant on them.
So your solution is to rely on cheap third world labor then. I thought we were trying to move past that because slaves became too powerful.
Its not about natural resources, its about being able to mobilize and harness that resource.
nah I mainly just mean, immigrants are gonna take over work force no matter what. I think we just need ICE in the uk tbh, but I’d rather work less for a small amount of money than work alot for a small amount of money
Which is what Tariffs and moving Industry back to the home country is all about.
No one is going to invest in a factory or mines if they can buy cheaper from China (until they decide to pull the rug)
China wants all the Western industrial knowledge, know how and ability to be decimated so that it cannot be reindustrialised.
Like I said, tariffs can work long term, but in the short term its too painfully disruptive. Lots of people living paycheck-to-paycheck are screaming over loss of revenue.
