My mom threw out a bunch of my anime and MLP merch because she thinks its the reason Im not social and dont have a girlfriend. The thing she doesnt understand is that it's not the cause but the result.

People retreat into copes because theyre one of the few things that make life bearable. Taking that away doesnt magically fix the underlying problem. Its like taking water away from someone because theyre thirsty and deciding thirst itself was the issue.
