I cannot compare since I never lived outside post-Soviet zone ( I don't live in Russia, I live in Lithuania). But I think life here is pretty bad otherwise millions of people wouldn't leave EE. Many people also act uncivilized and rude.
Corruption is very widespread. Many people live in despair without any hope for a bright future.
