I don't understand this logic from old school Biohazard fans. Biohazard was never a serious nor scary video game franchise & Biohazard 2 & 3 were already far more action heavy than 1 was. Biohazard 2 opens with you dodging zombies in the street & the main villain is a man who grows into a giant monster by the end. There's hardly any puzzles in Biohazard 2 as well & the one's that are there are easy as fuck.
Biohazard 3 has the main villain sprint at you, fire rockets at you, lift you & throw you into the ground, & punch you while there's the giant worm boss too. Jill & Carlos jump away from explosions plenty of times during the game too & there's a dodge mechanic gameplay wise.

Biohazard 4 still has some horror moments with the regenerators, U-3, Verdugo, Mendez boss & the part where you play as Ashley too.
Biohazard 7 is the only actual scary game in the franchise though. Biohazard is only really scary to children or people you have never played a horror game before. I'd argue as well Biohazard 0 was the most survival horror out of all the pre 4 games due to their being no magic item box.

Nostalgia blinds them and can't tell them that old games were never that serious or even as good as RE4.
 
As far as I understand, the original RE4 is praised for its fresh ideas at the time in terms of gameplay and art direction. The game offers a more immersive experience compared to previous games in the series.

just never peaked my interest
OSTs were great though

the differences arent drastic and both are just put together so well
i do have some complaints about RE4R changes but its improvements pretty much overshadow them
both had replay value and ill probably see myself going back to re4r again like i did with re4 back in the day


RE8 feels like some guerillmo del toro film
not a bad game just not a good RE imo
just disappointed in this entry

RE4R demake is goyslop trash. The fact that modern gaymers praise it so much says how doomed the industry is.
I enjoy the original trilogy & just played though Original 2 a few weeks ago.

Now that i've played GTA3 all Over Again. i have come to appreciate it much more, specially some Details lacking in GTA San Andreas. (water pubbles, sidewalk and jump bump sounds, trash everywhere, peds have a better reaction to (you), more variety and quantity of peds scattered throughout the area AND they spawn quicker, very humorous radio stations, shell dropping bullet sounds, sometimes a MUTE character has it's Perks, Catalina is a WHORE, the police action in this game is Top Tier INSANE.

i was talking about quality not sales figure. It sold well due to re4 hype but tbh it was just re4 on steroids with bad level design i remember during middle of the game wondering was i playing tomb raider or resident evil

But seriously that game was made for the Coop experience it's the only way to enjoy it, same with RE6
 
There's a simple reason why i can't play old re games. Doors. I can't stand waiting 7 seconds every time i open a door when i'm backtracking and exploring the place. And the fact that people praise doors is ultraretarded. Also the controls are absolute crap.

Agreed. Imo the village sequence at the beginning of 4 is the scariest the series had been by that point. First wasn't that scary because you could easily run away.

Mikami was only good when he had bosses overseeing his production to limit his weird ideas to the minimum and still keep a fun engaging game perfect example is RE4 vs Evil Within, just look how awful are his Evil Within games they are all about a boring setting up a traps in a stealth gameplay flow than any of the resident evils they are never fun to play you run out of bullets all the time only way of having fun in those games are using trainer and giving yourself unlimited ammo.
Survival Horror only works when you still have enough of bullets to take out zombies with a pistol being always ready when you ran out of bullets for the main gun, tension should be on managing and changing weapons not having close to ZERO ammo to all your guns through entire game and forcing you to spend half the game on crafting screen. This shit shouldn't be a minecraft.
