High IQ makes you wealthy
High IQ parents have more high IQ offspring
High IQ offspring is able to use the already present funds to grow / sustain the fortune for another generation

2 pointers in that direction: throughout history, be it the freeing of the slaves or the chinese culutral revolution, the disowned sons and grandsons of expropriated families were back at similar wealth levels in less than 3 generations. I have some data for this somewhere but I'm about to go to sleep, if you care I can look for it tomorrow.

But making the distinction is still relevant. Otherwise people might start to think "these billionaires are just like us regular joes", when in reality, they are both lucky in that they are wealthy and lucky in that they are smarter than average and both these things are causally connected.
