Recent events have distracted me from other things going on in the world, so this kinda blindsided me, but if you don't know Bill Cosby was just found guilty on 3 counts of indecent aggravated assault on a woman who claims he drugged her and touched her inappropriately many years ago. Now don't get me wrong, if he did it I hope he gets a daily prostate exam conducted by his fellow inmates when he inevitably goes to prison, but what bothers me about this whole thing is that he was found guilty without any hard evidence. No DNA, no video, no witnesses. They found him guilty based entirely on he say she say, I mean what happened to innocent until PROVEN guilty?
Now of course people look at the fact that more than several woman have come forward with allegations, but then you could counter that by asking why would a man of his stature have to force woman to have sex with him? Again, he say she say. I don't know what happened anymore than the next guy, but I do know the nature of male female relationships and how woman are allowed to withdraw consent at the slightest feeling of discomfort, which means you could think you're having consensual sex with a woman, but depending on how she feels about the encounter, what you thought was mutual fun was could be perceived as rape or assault by the female.
This makes me think of the Mike Tyson case where he was also convicted in similar fashion. He and a woman are in a room alone (at 2 in the morning *wink* *wink*) something happens, she leaves and claims he raped her, he goes to prison. Now if he did it, fuck em, but the problem is how do you prove that he did it? Its impossible without some sort of video or audio evidence. And if we are to truly believe that we live in a society where people are innocent until proven guilty, we've failed this man and many others. I'm truly sorry if any of these woman were really assaulted against their will, but we cannot imprison anyone based on he say she say and also claim that our citizens are innocent until proven guilty, its a blatant contradiction.
So what is the solution? Woman have to take personal responsibility for their actions. If you're going to meet up with a man you do not know very well, bring a friend, bring a witness, bring a family member. Don't go to a fucking hotel room alone with the fucking incredible hulk at 2 in the morning! That's stupid. The woman who accused 2pac of rape was alone in a hotel room filled with gangsters, drugs, and illegal firearms when it happened. And she won the case. Woman want to pretend they are men until shit goes wrong then they play the victim card that comes with being a female.
My friend went on a date years ago and I laughed at him because she brought a chaperone with her, talk about a fucking buzz kill, but looking back, she no doubt had great parents in her life, because that was for her protection. I applaud her family because she won't be getting taken advantage of any time soon. Sorry for the rant, I just really like Fat Albert.
