The Bible makes it clear that all of these events, once started, will happen very quickly.
The most obvious sign of the End Times to me, is globalization and the rapid spread of information. Never before has it been possible to preach the gospel anonymously to someone on the other side of the earth. As internet connectivity increases around the world, the church is more capable of spreading the gospel to all the nations.
"And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." - Matthew 24:14
Once the whole world has heard the gospel, what is the point of continuing? You either accept or reject it. And then the world will end.
There is no such thing as a self-fulfilling prophecy.

People have been prophesying the end of the world for years. Remember y2k, 11.11.11, Aztec calendar end of the world? I am sorry to say OP that your "quotes" from the bible are nothing but empty words that can apply to many things throughout history.
The way I like to think about things prophecy is if a person really is all powerful or has received divine information. Why are their prophesy always vague? If god really wanted us to understand and believe him what is keeping him from giving us locations, names, dates, times, and details of events? Nothing is stopping him, there are many events in the bible where god has shown himself, not in person but by events and shown his followers his power. (parting the sea, river to blood, etc.) But in modern times this has all stopped leaving only remnants of old cities where the events have been speculated to have happened. For example egypt and the exodus, there should be evidence Egypt falling after the exodus or a social change as egypt should have been severely shocken by events that lead to exodus. You can see that god did not believe that people would follow him in blind faith back then but suddenly there was a shift in mentality where you have to trust the word of a book blindly.
I wish too for the word of the bible to be true and salvation will come to the just. Humans have been fornicators, drunks, violent animals since the beginning of written history and even before that. Its the same today, women extort fornicating men for money, people are killed by drunk drivers, people still get mugged in the street. Guess what was happening in ancient Rome? The same, well not killed by drunk divers but possibly in drunk brawls.
