It's a philosophy which posits that existence is a limitation on the spirit. For example, sexuality is lesser to being free from sexuality, because if you're not sexual you aren't constrained by sexual desire, but you can still engage in it. It's similar to Buddhism because both aim at being free from the material universe, but Buddhism seeks liberation through understanding that existence is an illusion, but gnostic satanism (also known as Anti-Cosmic Satanism, or Luciferian Misanthropy) seeks the destruction of existence. So basically, you don't want to understand and look past your own animalistic existence, but you want to destroy it, e.g. by doing the opposite (to overcome hunger you would starve).
