Being short not only means women dont even see you as a man, but men also dont respect you at all.

Professionally, tall men do better. Sex life, tall men can succeed even when theyre ugly, since theyre seen as more manly and competent. Tall men are more likely to be in postions of power and earn better wages. Women dont even consider you as a sexual being, youre like a kid who hasnt hit puberty yet to them.

You can still at least be seen as physically intimidating and respected or even lusted after by women for your phyisique, even if they dont like your face, since it makes them feel the same way that wide hips/big breasts makes men feel. If she had a fat ass and big tits would I still have liked her? yes. By how much more? hard to tell honestly. There was a study done where women were something like twice as likely as men to reject a potential partner if they deviated 1 inch from their preferred height range. (I think the numbers are 35% and 71% or something like that). Of course men don't care about height that much, but I don't recall any other similar studies done on men but for breast/waist size etc. so it's the best we have for now.

In a more egalitarian society, you'd have a nearly 1-to-1 bijection from men to women, with some minor deviations depending on environmental factors. In such a scenario, I reckon partner selection from both sides would be closer to how it is for men currently vs. how it is for women currently.
