In order to be the best. You'd have to better than everyone else. Which naturally pisses people off.
I would then have to have my own living space. Which means it's practically a minimum requirement not to live with my family. Y'know... the ones who actually care about me!
Then I would have to have my own car, in case the partner wants to be driven somewhere. No more sociable train rides.
Edit:- Oh and obviously you're expected to have at-least a 9 to 5 job and bring work home, and want to do overtime.
