It's a way that normies, who believe that they have a God-given right to win over stinky inkwells and 'evil' people, try to rationalise how they could have lost. They decide that it wasn't fair, and you should have manned up and lost so that all could be fair. It's like saying soldiers are cowards for fighting and not just running into a bomb to die

NPCs think that you can never be right, have a valid point, win, have a moment's peace, or succeed at anything. So if you do, they decide that it's your fault for not throwing yourself to the flames.

What's funny is that if youre good looking chad and charismatic enough to get through their bickering they will eventually let chads side of this same exact problem you're referring to pass. Meanwhile you won't get anything back because of looks.
